Morpheus8 Treatment Summary
Morpheus8 is a revolutionary skin tightening and micro-needling treatment for fatty puffy eyelids with loose skin, eyelid festoons and malar swelling. It works regardless of your skin colour and avoids the downtime and cost of surgery.
If you have moderate to severe loose skin, Morpheus8 radio-frequency treatment is a fantastic alternative to consider for lax and fatty nasolabial folds, jowls and double chins. This is because Morpheus8 is the first and only device to coagulate subdermal fat, thus restoring a more youthful appearance. For severe eye bags, you should consider eye bag removal surgery or Accutite as an alternative.
- Less downtime – compared to surgical alternatives
- Long-lasting results – skin-tightening results last up to 2-5 years
- Unrivalled expertise – performed by team trained by Mrs. Shah-Desai
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 technology utilises fractional radiofrequency (RF) to tighten the skin of the face, neck, chest and the backs of the hands.
Morpheus8 induces ablation – improving the appearance of rough texture, fine lines, wrinkles, and scars (for exmaple acne scars). The treatment heats the dermis of the skin, kickstarting collagen production and replenishment, as well as closure of superficial fine blood capillaries.
The treatment requires anaesthesia with topical cream, injections, or sedation according to the treatment parameters and the physician discretion.
Morpheus8 Eye bag tightening vs Blepharoplasty surgery?
Surgical blepharoplasty is effective for treating moderate to severe loose eyelid skin and puffy eyelids. It is still the “gold standard” for patients seeking blepharoplasty, with impressive results lasting more than 10 years, for a few weeks of downtime.
Morpheus8 is a new innovative way of tightening loose skin and is an impressive alternative to surgery, allowing a gentle correction of moderate loose skin. For eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty) often 3-4 sessions may be required, which are performed every 3-6 weeks. Perfect for people who want a gradual, scarless
Morpheus8 Recovery and Downtime
Morpheus8 is done in an outpatient setting, so you can go home right after treatment. Following treatment the eyelids swell temporarily, which will settle within 48-72 hours (you may need to use of oral anti-inflammatory tablets).
The redness and swelling can take from 4 to 21 days to disappear. It is important not to scratch, pick or rub the area treated as a pinkish skin discoloration or hypo/hyperpigmentation could persist.
You will be required to use a growth factor serum twice a day & SPF50, (which has to be applied twice a day on the treated area for 4 weeks) to aid the healing process.
Does Morpheus 8 hurt?
Local anaesthetic cream is applied on cleansed skin for 20-30 mins. Most patients feel some heat and discomfort. At the end of the session, there will be small some redness and swelling in the treated area which may be sore.
What happens during the treatment?
With the help of portable hand piece, a small grid is marked on the skin without damaging surrounding tissue, delivering energy to deeper layers of the skin.
The procedure is carried out in an outpatient setting, under topical or intumescent anaesthetic and can be used for numerous aesthetic concerns: treating loose facial skin, scarring, and to perform blepharoplasty and brow lifts. A course of 1-5 treatments is recommended, 3-6 weeks apart.
Who should not have this treatment?
- Are pregnant
- Have a Pacemaker or internal defibrillator or any electronic Implant such as glucose monitor
- Permanent implant in the treated area such as metal plates and screws, silicone implants or an injected chemical substance
- A history of diseases stimulated by heat, such as recurrent Herpes Simplex in the treatment area
- Any active condition in the treatment area, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema and rash as well as excessively/freshly tanned skin

Worth every penny!”
“The procedure itself was not uncomfortable. It felt a little warm in some areas but other than that nothing. I had some swelling for about 3 days and had an intermittent stinging sensation. It is now 2 weeks on and I am very happy with the result. I would definitely recommend this treatment.”
