Double-eyelid surgery, sometimes referred to as "Asian blepharoplasty", is performed to create or redefine a natural upper-lid crease in patients who do not have one or whose crease is low and unstable. Medically, the procedure can help manage lash-line irritation, make-up trapping, or localised dermatitis along the upper lid.

The goal is to improve eyelid comfort and function while maintaining natural closure and respecting each patient's individual features.

How Does Double Eyelid Blepharoplasty Procedure Work?

No scar: the cut is hidden in the natural eyelid crease, or not required if using a running stitch. Long-lasting results: from 2 to 10 years. Unrivalled expertise: performed by a leading oculoplastic surgeon.

Double Eyelid Surgery can create a "wide awake" appearance by forming a natural crease in the upper lids and removing excess skin, muscle, and fat. Double Eyelid Surgery, or an Asian Blepharoplasty, can be performed in two ways.

Incision/Open Technique: This uses a cut, which enables the scar to be hidden in the crease and requires approximately 2 weeks of downtime, with the scar being fully settled by 3-6 months. The procedure typically lasts 5-15 years.

Non-Incision/Suture Technique: This uses a running stitch to create the crease and requires no incisions. Therefore, it does not leave a scar. The recovery is faster, approximately 1-2 weeks. However, the procedure typically lasts only 2-5 years.

Double Eyelid Surgery is performed under local anaesthesia or twilight anaesthesia as a day case, so you can go home on the same day.
