How Does Eyelid Bump & Lump Treatment Work?
First, you can try treating your eyelid bump at home if it is a stye or chalazion. Use a warm compress and gently massage the area to help clear the oily blockage. You can also use diluted baby shampoo to clean the surface. Usually, these bumps will go away by themselves in 2 weeks. If home treatments don't work, we will examine your eyelids to determine the nature of your eyelid lump or bump. If the bump is quite big, we might need to drain it. We will numb the area with a local anaesthetic before making a small cut inside the eyelid (so no visible scar). The procedure is quick and often completed within 10 minutes. Post-procedure care is straightforward, with most patients resuming normal activities within a few days.
