No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum Review

Product: No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum

Price: £35.00

Claims: It will reduce the appearance of wrinkles, firm your skin and give you a more even skin tone. More than 80% of women agreed that their skin had not looked or felt so good in a long time.

Key ingredients: ‘Matrixyl 3000 Plus ™ – a peptide-based ingredient, hyaluronic acid, hibiscus and Vitamin C serum.

The science: There is good evidence that peptides can make a subtle improvement in skin quality by boosting collagen production. Hibiscus is a common exfoliator and Vitamin C serum has been shown in studies to act as an effective hydrator of skin.

Ethics policy: our reviews are completely independent and not funded by any skincare brand. No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum was purchased by Perfect Eyes Ltd and no contact has been made with No7 or Boots.

We asked a 27-year-old woman to apply No7 Triple Action Serum daily for 8 weeks, before sharing her findings.

What I was hoping the cream would do

I have a couple very fine lines on my forehead and hoped they would be plumped out a little and reduced in appearance. Also, my skin does have quite large pores in my T-zone so I was hoping that they would be minimised too.

What it felt like to apply

Not a lot of the cream was required for full coverage, which was good as the 30ml smaller bottle wouldn’t last long otherwise! The cream absorbed quickly leaving no grease but I did find that there was some sort of dry bitty residue that I would have to take off using a towel after applying.

The results

After 8 weeks of using the cream daily, I noticed my skin was smoother and softer.

It seems to have made a nice difference to the skin texture. However, it didn’t make much of a visible difference to the subtle lines on my forehead and my pores are just as visible as before.

So one out of three claims worked for me – it did firm my skin, it didn’t reduce the appearance of my subtle wrinkles and I didn’t have a problem with skin tone to start with, so I can’t comment on that one.

Skin Boosters at Mrs Shah-Desai’s clinic are designed to rejuvenate ageing skin. They hydrate the skin from the inside, fill lost volume and stimulate collagen production – leading to younger looking, healthier skin. They cost £900 and last 6-18 months depending on the individual.

Anti-wrinkle treatments (such as toxin injections) can have much more dramatic effects than over the counter products. Our wrinkle treatments cost £350 for 3 areas and last 3-5 months.
