On 5 August I had eyelid surgery under the care of the Adnexal Clinic at Moorfields, and I am writing to thank everyone involved for the excellent treatment I received throughout the whole process.
The clinic itself is run very efficiently, and I was surprised at how quickly I was seen each time I attended. The consultant who examined and advised me at the clinic, and who performed the surgery was Mrs Sabrina Shah-Desai. She was very patient about explaining the procedure and reassuring me, because I was quite nervous about having plastic surgery and especially about the outcome.
Mrs Shah-Desai took great care during the operation, and I cannot praise her enough for her care and skill. I did not catch the name of the anaesthetist, but he and the other theatre staff were also excellent, as well as all the nurses and staff on MacKellar ward. Everyone was very kind, and the ward appeared to be clean and well run. It was reassuring to see notices about hygiene and the need for cleanliness in the ward, and although I was not there for long, the food I had was very good. The staff on the main information desk were also polite and helpful.
I may also add that I have also had cataract surgery to both eyes. The first was done at my local hospital, but because it was not very successful, my GP sent me to Moorfields for the second, and the difference all-round was amazing. I was operated on by Mr Gartrey at St Ann’s and was overjoyed by the result.
Thank you so much Moorfields – I am indebted to everyone involved in my treatment.
